Impact Stories:

• These kittens, at Friends of Metro Animal Shelters, were in rough shape when they arrived, struggling with fleas, malnourishment, and low weight. With love, medical care, and lots of good food, they have since blossomed into healthy, playful, and affectionate kittens. Now thriving in their foster homes, they are ready to take the next step—finding families of their very own.  Thank you to for the donations to help us take care of precious lives like these.

• Chewbaca, was found by one of our program participant's out on the street during a rainstorm here in LA. When she brought in the puppy, it was freezing, shivering and soaking wet. Robert, the case manager at the facility, was able to use the pet blankets to wrap up little Chewbaca and keep him warm. He also used the dog wipes to clean him up and get the dirt and mud off him as well. Then, Chewbaca was able to go to sleep in his new home on one of the donated pet warming mats that evening. So, all around a wonderful case of success!

• Boo Boo, a 12-year-old and his best dog friend, Missy were turned into a shelter. Both were surrendered due to their owner's living situation. Boo Boo had some dental disease and received a teeth cleaning. With his new smile, Boo Boo and Missy were ready to find a new home, and they were adopted together. (Missy is not in this photo). 

•  Honey is five-years- old and a female pit bull mix. A friend of the shelter found Honey on the side of the road and noticed that she had wounds that needed medical attention. Her face was very swollen. It looked like she had either been in a dog fight or was used as a bait dog. She was sent to a vet for her injuries. Honey is now completely healed and now after some grooming, is ready for adoption. Here she is enjoying a fuzzy bath towel.
• Luann, a two-month-old puppy was brought in as a stray with her sibling and was able to get cleaned up, and feel fresh before being put up for adoption.

• Popcorn the Beagle went into The Animal Defense League kind of stinky, most likely digging through trash for food, since she was a stray. With a nice bath she's smelling fresh and living in a foster home.
