Provide Essential Supplies For Kids in Crisis

Almost 13.4 million children live in poverty in the United States alone. Children of all ages, genders, and ethnicities need your help. 

With your help we can send backpacks full of essentials as well as fun things to let a child know they are loved and not forgotten. With prices of goods going up many families are struggling to provide for the young ones in their family. Let these kids know that even though they are going through rough times, they have can have something to call their own.

• Stuffed Animals or handmade doll to provide comfort.
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste for oral hygiene.
• Kids shampoo to help them stay clean and confident.
• Blankets for comfort and warmth
• Toys for enjoyment and creative play.
• Notebooks for school or doodling
• Coloring Books to help with stress and provide a happy distraction.
• School packs that include a ruler, pencils, pencil sharpener, crayons, a pencil pouch and eraser.
• Snacks to provide a child with a healthy option during their day.
• Twin sheet set, that includes a fitted and flat sheet, ensuring a child has a comfy, clean place to sleep and snuggle into.
  

Hundreds of thousands of families with kids are going through hard times, and there are many children in the foster care system, waiting for adoption, staying with extended family due to unforeseen circumstances or living in poverty. Some children have been separated from their parents and siblings - the only people they've ever known. Some children go into the foster program without any of their personal belongings -- nothing to call their own, nothing to provide a sense of security and comfort amidst the chaos of moving.

Let's support these kids by giving them something to hang on to - to put their valued possessions in, something that they can take joy in and be proud to call theirs. These children can be without some of the basic things they need to get by, but with your help we can make a difference in a child's life.

The Native American Advancement Foundation received and distributed 264 backpacks and school supplies to children in the area ranging from preschool to high school age. These backpacks filled with goodies meant so much as they were all brand new items, making students feel valued and appreciated and as Dr. Jen McCormak (of NAAF) says " Feeling good inspires mental health."
