Send Reusable Hygiene Kits To Women In Africa

Basic hygiene supplies are not readily available or easily accessible for many women and girls across the globe. In particular, for many women in Africa, access to sanitary products remains a significant challenge. Sanitary products can be hard to find and very expensive. We believe that every woman deserves to feel a sense of empowerment throughout her menstrual cycle.

GreaterGoodsA young lady receiving a hygiene kit at school.

GreaterGood is working with Kosmotive, a company founded in 2014, whose mission is to help improve maternal and child health in Rwanda and throughout Africa* by providing reusable sanitary pads to women.

This amazing organization has developed an initiative to provide cost-effective, reusable, and eco-friendly pads for young women in the hopes that women will "come to see their periods as a source of pride and power."* Without sanitary products girls often miss school during menstruation, setting them back in their education.

GreaterGoodsGirls in Rwanda receive feminine hygiene items.

Many families cannot afford the cost of pads and tampons and at times supplies can simply be hard to come by. "Menstruation is an educational and health policy concern that needs awareness so that young women can manage their periods effectively and young boys and girls can be educated on reproductive health" according to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). In an article posted by UNESCO, a senior student who received a kit stated: "My mother had advised me to use pieces of clothes because she could not afford the cost of standard pads every month. I am grateful for the donation."

Each kit contains FIVE reusable pads, a wet bag and a carrying bag. Each pad is made of a unique fabric and can last up to two years! Also, they are free of toxins, breathable, and comfortable to wear. They are made by women, for women, and help each African woman "save 88% of the money they would otherwise spend on disposable pads."*  These hygiene kits truly have a huge impact on each individual who receives them.

Help women and young girls by sending essential hygiene kits that promote and encourage feminine pride and dignity.
