Federal Protections Gutted, Critically Endangered Species At Risk

URGENT: The Endangered Species Act has been rolled back in the Gulf of Mexico. Species are in danger.

A federal committee voted to strip the Endangered Species Act protections from all oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico permanently.

This decision puts endangered species at even greater risk. Sea turtles, manatees, and the Rice's whale — a species found nowhere else on earth, with about 50 individuals remaining — are all in harm's way. They need your help..

Gulf drilling will harm these species through oil spills, ship strikes, and habitat destruction. The 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill killed approximately 22% of all remaining Rice's whales. We can't let this happen again!

That's why our partner, Greater Good Charities, is mobilizing resources right now to support wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and protection in the Gulf.
