Java Stars Holiday Tree Ornaments

A gorgeous set of ornaments designed with batik techniques handed down through the ages. Gunadi carves the egg-shaped ornaments from wadang wood, and one is decorated with the tantrum motif (cream-hued stars on black), usually worn by the parents of the bride and groom. The lok chan motif refers to the relationship between China and Java, dating back to Ming Dynasty. The third ornament highlights the beauty of the kopi pecah, or split coffee bean motif, which is relatively new compared to the previous two.
