Hopeful, Chief Carver Nana Frimpong designs an original mask so that it may grant him a wish, that peace may reign. He carves it by hand from sese wood and decorates it with a long protrusion over the nose. 'It is meant to be a bridge that joins quarreling sides so they may meet halfway, solve their differences, and welcome peace,' explains Frimpong. Titled Asomdwie Apem (Let Peace Reign), the mask's childlike smile is inspiring.
